Sales video script template for prospecting (60 seconds)

Updated November 2, 2026 · Anthony Delmotte

In short. A prospecting video works best at 45 to 90 seconds, about 100 to 200 words: open with their name and something specific about them, name their problem, give one result you got for someone similar, and ask for one small next step.

The template

Replace everything in [brackets] before you read. Each paragraph becomes one card. 99 words as written, before you fill in the brackets.

Hi [first name], I’m [your name] from [company].

I noticed [something specific: their post, a job opening, a new product, a problem they mentioned].

A lot of [their role or industry] tell us [the problem, in their words].

We helped [similar customer] [result, with a number if you have one] in [time frame].

I recorded this instead of sending another email because I thought it might be worth a quick conversation.

Would you be open to [small next step: a 15-minute call next week]? I’ll put a link to my calendar just below.

Thanks, [first name] — talk soon.

How to make it yours

  1. Make the first ten seconds theirs

Their name and one specific detail prove the video is not a mass mailing.

  2. One proof only

A single result from a similar customer is more believable than a list of features.

  3. Ask small

A 15-minute call is an easy yes; a demo and a contract are not.

  4. Template the rest

Keep this script as a base and only rewrite the first card for each prospect.

FAQ

How long should a prospecting video be?

Under 90 seconds. Many teams aim for 60.

Should I read a script in a sales video?

Yes, as long as it sounds like you. Reading from a prompter under the lens keeps eye contact and stops you rambling.
