Product launch video script template (60 to 90 seconds)

Updated November 2, 2026 · Anthony Delmotte

In short. A launch video works best at 60 to 90 seconds, about 150 to 200 words: open on the problem, reveal the product, show three benefits (not features), add one line of proof, and end with one clear call to action and the date or link.

The template

Replace everything in [brackets] before you read. Each paragraph becomes one card. 86 words as written, before you fill in the brackets.

[Hook: the frustrating moment your customer knows too well.]

We’ve all been there. [One sentence that makes the problem feel real.]

That’s why we built [product name].

[Product name] lets you [main benefit], in [how fast or how simply].

You can [benefit two]. And [benefit three].

[Proof: beta users, a result, a quote from a customer.]

It’s available [today / from date] at [price or “for free”] on [where to get it].

[Call to action: try it, pre-order, join the waitlist]. The link is right below.

How to make it yours

  1. Benefits, not features

“Find any file in two seconds” beats “advanced search index”.

  2. Show while you speak

Write one shot idea next to each paragraph: the product on screen sells it.

  3. One call to action

Try, buy or join the waitlist. Pick one.

  4. Record the talking parts on a prompter

Founders on camera look most natural reading short cards under the lens.

FAQ

How long should a product launch video be?

Sixty to ninety seconds for social media and landing pages; up to three minutes for a detailed demo.

Should the founder be in the launch video?

Often yes: a face and a voice build trust. Keep the on-camera parts short and cut to the product as soon as possible.
